Imran Khan is nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by Norwegian politicians

Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, has been nominated for the coveted Nobel Peace Prize, “in recognition of his contributions to human rights and democracy in Pakistan.”

Partiet Sentrum, a Norwegian political party, announced the nomination, confirming that it had collaborated with an eligible nominator to submit Khan’s name for the prize. Throughout his political career, he worked to promote democratic values and human rights, according to the party.

Imran Khan, Pakistan’s Prime Minister from 2018 to 2022, has remained a prominent player in the country’s political scene.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee awards the Nobel Peace Prize yearly to persons and organisations who have made major contributions to peace, human rights, and diplomacy. If chosen, Khan would join an esteemed group of world leaders who have earned this honor.

The final judgment on the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize will be announced later this year.
