Pakistan’s Gold Prices Drop Slightly After Reaching Record Highs

The price of gold in Pakistan decreased on Thursday after seeing the largest one-day spike the day before.

The price of gold (24 carats) declined by Rs 2,700 per tola to Rs 237,300 and by Rs 2,314 for 10 grammes to Rs 203,447, according to statistics made public by the All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA).

The price of gold has increased by Rs. 11,800 a tola over the past week, despite today’s decline. On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, the price of the precious metal increased by Rs. 1,400 per tola, Rs. 3,200 per tola, and Rs. 9,900 per tola, respectively.

With the exception of Friday, when the price fell by 300 rupees per tola, the price of gold increased each day over the previous week, totaling a rise of 6,000 rupees per tola.

By 1339 GMT, spot gold was largely steady on the global market at $2,029.46 per ounce, while US gold futures were down 0.1 percent at $2,035.00.
