UCP students are given scholarships by the general consul of China.

LAHORE: Zhao Shiren, the Chinese consul general in Lahore, was a distinguished guest at the scholarship-awarding ceremony held by the University of Central Punjab’s Humanities and Social Sciences Department.

The Chinese consul general awarded scholarships totaling Rs 0.5 million to twelve outstanding and well-deserving students. Faculty members, students, and Dean Khalid Manzoor of the Humanities and Social Sciences Department attended the event.

The pupils were also given a documentary that emphasized the friendliness and connections between China and Pakistan.

The general consul of China spoke on the event and expressed his happiness at his second visit to the UCP. He promised to award Rs. 1 million in scholarships to UCP students the next year.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Khalid Manzoor stated that scholarships were a major factor in inspiring and pushing students to put in a lot of effort and dedication in their academic pursuits. He claimed further Memorandums of Understanding with Chinese colleges were planned by the UCP.

The pupils expressed their happiness at receiving scholarships and their commitment to hard study going forward.

Attendees at the event were Pro-Rector Dr. Hadia Awan, Head of the Economics Department, Dr. Arslan, Head of the Psychology Department, and Head of the Political Science Department, Dr. Waheed Ahmad Khan.
